Come and live the experience of a complete French immersion in Nantes, the largest metropolis in western France!

At Institut Francophonie, you will study in optimal conditions :

  • in individual or small group lessons (6 to 12 participants)
  • with constant interaction, both in speaking and writing
  • and above all, in a serious and friendly atmosphere!

Our objective

To allow you to practice oral French for 50% to 60% of your lesson and make the most of your teacher's feedback and corrections.

At the same time, in order to improve writing skills, our learners engage in completing personal work (homework) at home, corrected by the teacher.

General intensif French - 15 hours per week

Public: foreign adults-teenagers (from 16 years old)

Goal: progress quickly and well! Development of the 4 language skills : speaking, understanding, writing and reading in French.

Levels: from beginner (A1) to advanced (C1)

Starting dates: each Monday - lessons all year long

Pace and training days : 5 lessons of 3 hours per week, Monday to Friday + minimum 5 hours of homework per week

Times: *depending on your level: 9:30am to 12:30pm OR 1pm to 4pm
*you will receive a comprehensive placement exam to be completed online upon receiving your registration.

Registration: from one week

How to register or pre-register? Fill out the online registration form + pay the required deposit. If necessary for your visa application, you will receive a registration letter.

Your weekly program :

  • Basics to progress: general oral and written French (6 hours)
  • Speaking and writing comprehension (3 hours)
  • French and francophone cultures (3 hours)
  • Phonetic (1 hour)
  • Conversation

The course program is designed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.

Evaluation: you will be assessed very regularly in order to monitor your progresses and determine your level change(s). Our French courses prepare you for the DELF/DALF exams and TCF exam.

Complete beginners: new groups open the first Mondays of September, January, May and/or June and/or July. Contact us for more information.

Extensive General French - 7 or 4 hours per week

 

Public: non-francophone adults and teenagers (from 16 years old)

Goal: development of the 4 language competencies: speaking, understanding, writing and reading in French.

Levels: from beginner (A1) to advanced (C1) - 7 hours per week not available for level C1.

Starting dates: possible each Monday - lessons from September to June.

Pace and training days : (2) 2-hour lessons per week, or (2) 2 hours-lessons + (1) 3-hour lesson per week, from Monday to Friday.

Class Vacations: during national school holidays. Au pairs wishing to take courses during the summer can register for 15 or 6 hours per week formula.

Times: *according to your level: 9:30am-11:30am or 1:45pm-3:45pm (2 hour course) / 9:30am-12:30pm or 1pm-4pm (3 hour course)                                                                                           *you will receive a comprehensive placement exam to be completed online upon receiving your registration.

Course payment :

  • you choose your course duration. A deposit is required upon registration. The remainder must be paid no later than the first day of training, otherwise entry into training will not be possible.
  • Please note, any started session is due in full.

Kids/teens courses

Have you just moved to Nantes and your child(ren) have not yet fully mastered French ? Institut Francophonie offers 2 child/adolescent formulas.

1 / In individual lessons or between brothers and sisters, we implement a specific child pedagogy: to learn always in action (with games, songs, etc). To learn for and by having fun!

We will build your schedule together according to your child's pace.

Does your trip to Nantes last only a few weeks? Offer your child(ren) an immersive and intensive linquistic experience!

Individual lessons

Do you need specific instruction or an “à la carte” schedule? We recommend individual or mini-group lessons (from 2 to 4 participants) for friends, colleagues, couples, etc ...

Advantage: together we will determine your schedule, the pace of your learning and the content of your training, according to your needs and availability. You can choose to study general, professional or French for a specific objective (improvement of writing or speaking, French for secretarial work, oenology, etc.)

Public: for all

Goal: After a precise analysis of your needs and your objectives, we will define your training program together.

Levels: from beginner (A1) to advanced (C1)

Starting dates: flexible. Possible at any time of the year.

Pace and training days, times: flexible. Schedule defined according to your wishes and availability. Session of 1h, 1h30, 2h or 3h.
