Registration terms and conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. Registration for one of our courses implies acceptance of these conditions. In the event of a dispute, only the courts of Nantes are competent.

COVID-19: Before registering, please check with your consulate to request and obtain your visa to stay in France. In case of visa refusal, your deposit will be refunded. €50 will be kept by Institut Francophonie for banking and administrative costs.

Registration, book and tuition fees

Registration fees are 40 euros. They include your level test (if required) and a free month's trial at our online self-study solution. They are payable once a year, starting on the date of your registration.

Registration for a given period is absolute for consecutive weeks.

All learners who are not complete beginners must take a level test before confirming their registration.

  • Any registration or renewal must be validated no later than 15 days before your first day of class.
  • A deposit payment (pre-payment) is required to confirm your registration. The deposit is set at 150 euros. It is 500 euros for any registration over 1000 euros. The remainder due is to be paid no later than the first day of training.
  • Minors: parental authorization is required.

The deposit can only be refunded in the event of cancellation of the training by Institut Francophonie or a visa refusal (provide a written visa refusal proof). In the latter case, 50 euros will nevertheless be kept for administrative and banking costs.

Payment, means of payment and late payment

Payments by credit card online or on site, bank transfer and cash are accepted. Payments by check are no longer accepted as of January 1, 2019.
Classes must be paid no later than your first day, otherwise, entry in the classroom will not be possible. You can benefit from a 3-part payment plan on site, in which additional costs will be charged.
In the event of non-payment of your invoice by the payment deadline, you will have to pay a lump sum compensation for recovery costs of 40 € ( the article L 441-3 of the Commercial Code of the law of March 22, 2012).

Cancellation, postponement and refund policy

Any reservation change after registration (dates including postponement of training, formula, etc.) will be charged 50 euros and must be made BEFORE your arrival date. Only one postponement will be authorized.

If you need to cancel your reservation (course and/or accommodation), you must notify Institut Francophonie by post or email. The deposit is 90% refundable (after a deduction of 50 euros for cancellation fees) if the cancellation is done at least 30 days before your arrival date. After that date, the deposit is not refundable.

Any session started is due in full. Registration is not transferable to another person. In the event of early departure, no refund can be granted for any reason.

Au pair: in the event of early course ending, the Au pair must:

- notify us BY EMAIL 15 days before the end of the course, otherwise the following invoice will be issued and due,
- present a certificate of enrollment in another school approved by DIRECCTE.

The institute reserves the right to cancel/close a course in which the number of students is insufficient (6 people minimum). In this case, the deposit or the tuition fees will be reimbursed in full.

Accommodation: the institute reserves the right to end the accommodation contract if the conditions for a satisfactory reception are not all met.

Institut Francophonie or its employees will not be held responsible for any loss, theft, damage or injury caused during a course. Learners are responsible for their health, accident, travel and personal insurance. It is advisable to take the necessary health, travel and liability insurance before your stay in your country.

Accommodation: civil insurance will be required upon registration.

Presence in class is compulsory. A certificate of attendance and/or level will be issued on request.

If it is impossible to attend a class, please notify us in advance in class, by phone, or by email at adeline.raffin@francophonie-nantes.fr BEFORE the course.

Individual classes and other hourly rates: any course, not canceled 24 hours in advance will be charged.

Missed lessons cannot be refunded under any circumstances. They can be recovered in 2 cases:

  • Sick child : under presentation of the medical document (and a note from the host family for Au pairs)
  • URGENT medical or administrative appointment or fixed on a non-negotiable date: upon presentation of written proof.

School holidays and public holidays

  • Extensive courses: no lessons during the school holidays.
  • Intensive courses: no lessons for one week at each school holiday and two weeks at Christmas.
